Do Space would not be possible without all the volunteers that contribute to our programs and assisting our members. They are the pulse of everything we do and give us the ability to offer members help in all different kinds of skills. The goal of this effort it to capture and share the people that are volunteering at Do Space and how it positively affects their lives. What led them to volunteer? What sort of impact are they making? And why they continue to contribute?

Pam Chadwick-Lentz has held the role of Advocate and Explorer at Do Space since we opened in November of 2015!

What led you to volunteer at Do Space?
I received a Do Space card in the mail and went on the website. I looked on the website and saw you needed help and thought it looked fun and would be a way to use my computer skills.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Do Space?
Helping other people like senior citizens, young youth groups that come in. I give them tours around and tell them about Do Space.

What position do you hold at Do Space and how does it contribute towards Do Space mission?
I am an advocate right now. I tell people about what we do, what our purpose is, and how we were founded.

When was a time that you felt like you made a difference and really helped a member?
Previous to being an advocate I assisted as an Explorer in Cyber Seniors. I felt I was really helpful in setting up the program and assisting staff. I was most skilled in helping attendees learn how to download and organize photos.

What is something you would tell a friend that is thinking about volunteering?
That it is fun and they will learn more. Volunteering is a great way to support your community!
