The Omaha Mini Maker Faire is April 14th at Do Space. We are excited to welcome a variety of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and entrepreneurs to our space to share their creations. To get you excited for the big day, we wanted to introduce you to one of the maker groups who will be there this year.

The Bad Habits Collection will showcase a selection of whimsical items upcycled from discarded cigar boxes, whiskey crates, and kegs. From lamps to games to guitar amplifiers, you’ll surely find something that suits your bad habits.

What inspired you to make this project or do your maker activity?
I’ve always been a fan of recycling/upcycling and working in the entertainment and service industry, I had access to wooden boxes and containers that would have been otherwise thrown away.

How long have you been involved with your maker activity and/or project?
Since high school, 10+ years.

What do you enjoy most about your maker activity and/or project?
Reducing waste and making new useful projects.

What is something you would tell a friend that is thinking about doing something similar to your project or maker activity?
Find inspiration in everything, don’t limit yourself to what you know and expand your knowledge.
