We’ve got some amazing members who can work wonders with out laser cutter. The one thing that I have learned from each and every one of them is that it take time, patience, and a lot of experimenting to master that machine. However, there are a lot of basic tips floating around online that can help you improve your results in just a short amount of time. One of the best articles I’ve found in on Instructables by user geordie_h titled 10 Tips and Tricks for Laser Engraving and Cutting. His ten tips are:

  1. Preparing for Cutting or Engraving
  2. The Power of Layers
  3. Wood Grains and Engraving
  4. Overlapping Lines
  5. Lines – Raster Versus Vector
  6. Defocus the Laser for Thicker Vector Lines
  7. Adding a Vector Score to the Edge of Type or Engravings
  8. Hitting the Target
  9. Engraving Multiple Objects
  10. Using the Red Dot to Figure Out Where to Cut or Engrave

However, to get the full details you’ll need to head on over to Instructables and read the full article.
